Sunday - Meanwhile at the South-of-the-Border Pole
If you've been to the City of Children with the NBYG, you know that our skit...is anything but that. It's a fully scripted, mini-series, costume drama with sound effects and background music. This year's edition see Santa's elves feeling the North Pole for Ensenada and the City of Children to thwart the plan of a group of mean Christmas super villians who are bent on ruining the winter holiday. Fight their evil plan are, of course, Santa's elves lead by General Nervioso, Blitzen and Rudolph, a gaggle of penguins, Olaf from Frozen, and a talking Christmas Tree. Of course, there's always a point to our skits that's not always clear to see in day one of the skits. The biggest applause and general audience eruption of the night was delivered by a video cameo from Papa Joe Mayes. While the children cheered for Santa Joe, may of the adults were wiping the tears from their eyes. The City loves you and misses you, Papa Joe. And we pray for your continued improvement!
