A good deal of the evening's performance dealt with the importance of the heart. The self-centered teen Adora may be having a change of heart as she learns the "friends" she's aligned herself with are villains set on destroying Christmas. They try to convince her that she's on the right side and the best way to keep your heart from being broken is to "Hurt Others Before They Can Hurt As You."
Speaking of hearts -- Buddy's heart is in the right place but everything he does seems to be anything but right. He single-handedly is undoing the elves' attempt to get all the toys made at their remote Mexico location before Christmas. Thinking they were broken, Buddy glued all of the pieces to the Jenga sets together. He spread the squishy Playdough out in the sun so that it would dry out. And he drilled holes in the maracas to let out whatever was rattling around in side of them. If that isn't bad enough, the blundering Buddy was so worried he would get lost that he put up signs so he could find his way back to the City of Children and Santa's Workshop...which allowed the villains to find their way to the secret location and seize General Nervioso and the elves.
Has Buddy's bumbling spelled the end of Christmas?
Will the Grinch become the Main Claus?
Can Buddy redeem himself?
Will Adora deal with her heart condition?
And what about Santa?
Stay tuned! Somehow this is all going to get wrapped up by Wednesday night!
