Sunday - We Like Who We Are Here

As we prepared for this trip, Skid has reminded us again and again that it's not about one week, it's about 51 weeks. It's about using what we learn and do and feel and become while we're away to change our life and the world when we come back. This is a time of preparation for the 51 weeks that will follow. It's not just about sacrifice and service here away from the distractions and temptations of our lives in the States. It's about using what we learn to impact, inform and change our attitude, outlook and action the 51 weeks that come after. We know that it's dangerous making public that intention.... Will we do it? Will we really return changed, alive to the world around us, thankful for our many blessings and ready to serve family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ and those in need in the broader world around us. Will we? You have our permission to hold us to our mission when we've come home from the mission field.

Anyway, we invite your prayers, we appreciate your sacrifices, support and hard work that have made this week possible. We hope we make you proud, Him glorified and the children and staff of the City overjoyed with what God's got planned for all of us this week. We can't wait to see what happens next. Can you?!

The City of Children teen and college girls were treated to new bedding thanks to NBYG-ers Madison Shea and Daisy Skidmore and all the teens who took part in a Summer Dance which raised money for the project. It was a win-win blessing for all. Teens took part in a dance and the City were treated to new bedding. Very cool.

  1. Tell Abie and Jordan they no longer have an excuse not to clean up the kitchen back home. We have PROOF they can do it. But I want to see them wear those aprons at home too.
